This trip encompassed varied activities and organizational contacts. The flood devastated area at Jimani was visited, and the clinic building plans were discussed with World Vision, engaged in building 120 homes for displaced flood victims, the local military authority, Brigadier General Julio de Jesus Despradel Reyes, and with several local contractors. On the Haitian side, we toured Dr. Paul Farmer's Zanmi Lasante medico-social complex at Cange, and discussed a cooperative effort at their outreach clinic at Belladere, a Haitian town near the Dominican border. In addition, 216 medical and eyeglass patients were treated.
