International Medical Alliance of Tennessee was founded in the year 2000 with the goal of developing a volunteer medical relief organization to treat both chronic and infectious disease. The country or region to be aided is researched to determine the types and prevalence of diseases, each expedition is planned and implemented to bring the appropriate WHO recommended medicines and supplies. We have worked in Central and South America, the Caribbean and
IMA is a non-denominational and non-political organization. IMA is funded by the generous donations of individuals, churches and civic groups that believe in and want to support IMA’s work. Medications are obtained by donation from mission supply charities and from pharmaceutical companies, or purchased at cost from medical missionary supply houses. Volunteers and community service groups help in the packaging and labeling of medication in the native language of each country.
IMA provides access to medical care in underserved and vulnerable communities around the world through short term medical mission trips where volunteers give their time and services for the medical relief of the developing world.
